Leave Thots Where You Are
You can interact with others nearby by leaving thots wherever you are. If you like a thot, give it the thumbs up. If you dislike, thumbs down!
Flag thots that violate the community guidelines for spam, explicitness or violations of privacy. The goal is to keep Thotly a fun place for all, so be respectful of others!
If you like a thot, hit the favorite button to save it for later. You can also reply to thots you see to start a thread. The blue arrow on the right shows that there is already a thread to view...
Express Yourself & re-Thot
When you are leaving a thot, tap the favorite button to re-Thot a favorite. You can take any thot you see and save it for later...but what is fun is finding ideas and memes and spreading them. If you find a thot you like, every re-Thot helps extend the life of the original. If enough re-Thots happen, a thot can eventually become immortal...
Thots are limited to 140 characters, but you are anonymized so you can speak freely and without fear. We want you to feel safe expressing yourself, so we do not gather your personally identifiable information when you use Thotly. A common identifier, the UDID of your smart phone, is not collected. We instead generate a completely random identifier for you when you install Thotly.
What About MY Thots?
Even though you can only see thots around you in the Thots tab, you *can* keep participating in threads once you leave. If you have replied to a Thot, you can now continue to keep tabs on it after leaving. Never lose out on an interesting conversation!
You can tell which thots are yours with the orange border on the left of each one. Remember, you can't like, dislike or flag your own thots.
What If Nothing Is Nearby?
If there are no nearby Thots, check out the stream! A list of hot thots across the globe, the Stream shows you what has become a major topic. You can browse any of the threads in the stream and if you find something interesting, re-Thot the discussion where you are!
You've just spread an idea from one part of the world to another! Every re-Thot makes a thot last longer, so remember to re-Thot what YOU find is important. Help change the world by spreading important ideas across the globe!
